Hi - I meet with my PS next week for my "pick my foobs" consult. I think she's already decided what she wants to do, but I'm not so sure. We were scheduled for consultation the week before surgery, but I need more time to process and decide what I want to do. She uses Mentor brand, and I know for sure I want silicone. Beyond that, I have tons of questions - round or anatomical, smooth or textured, size? Shape or does that depend on the earlier questions. What other questions do I need to ask to consider what I want to do? Any advice from those who have been through this greatly appreciated!

On another note, do you ladies who have done this think I can do a motorcycle poker run 10 days post op? It is a "Pink Heals" poker run and I'd love to participate but don't know if I'll be well enough yet.

Jennie

I had my reconstruction in 2007. My husband asked whether my breasts could be a "discrete D." I always got a kick out of that. I used silicone and haven't had any trouble. A friend of mine used the saline and they "popped" a few times. One of my breasts is larger than the other, which bothers me, but it's not very noticeable.

my plastic surgeon was at a breast center and does this all the time so I just told him about the size I wanted to be and trusted him with the rest . He explained things so well I trusted his jusdgement . I did ask whippetmom in the breast sizing 101 thread of his suggestion was reasonable and she said he sounded right about the size for my height /weight . I couldn't lift over 5 pounds for a while so if you are driving a bike I doubt you shouldt that soon , riding maybe ok? I would ask PS because you don't want to mess up anything. Mine are 650cc round smooth

I let my PS determine what would work best for me. I was very small (she laughingly said I was an A+) so she gave me a slight "upgrade" to a full B. I definitely don't think I would have wanted them any larger as I am slim. I had immediate reconstruction with pre-pectoral placement.
