    Hi Everyone,

on my final pathology report, it states that there was no spread to sentinel lymph nodes, but there was a "microscopic focus of lymphovascular invasion"...anyone know what this means?

Do drs even know what it means? I had focal LVI on my report. My surgeon said I had “something wonky” with the wall of my tumor and in a year or so it would cause me trouble. My MO called it what it was, lvi, but gave no further explanation.

So I questioned my BS. She said it was fine since my lymph nodes were clear then I was good. Then I asked about the vascular part and she just shrugged her shoulders and gave me a kind of sheepish look.

Did cancer cells spread from the focal lvi? Maybe. But there’s also speculation that cancer cells can send out “friends” even without lvi so I’m religious about taking my letrozole to control any possible cancer cells, regardless of how they got free.
