I’m scheduled to have 1 dose to spine met ... little worried that I can’t seem to find anyone else who’s done it.

Idk anyone who has either but from what I understand it's higher doses of radiation for a shorter period of time. Check out the side effects. I would ask my doctor why he/she is going this route.

I had 33 radiation treatments. Very mild side effects. Fatigue and a bit burning. I do know women who did suffer debilitating side effects everyone doesn’t react the same.

Hi Tracey, I had SBRT to my spine T9 about a month ago. The tattoos for setup were a little ouchie, and I did say ouch! When they did them. As far as the procedure, I had only 1 appointment with SBRT.

Reaction in the first week wasn't favourable I was very sore and achy (as foretold in the brochure). Today I have significantly less pain. I go next week go see how effective it was at smacking the cancer. (Got my MRI today for review).

The system is very exact, not broad sweeps like used for whole breast. One strong Rad dose exactly where it is needed and done.

I haven't quite decided how to deal with the met and falling from stage 2 to stage 4. They call it de novo. Met with initial diagnosis. I'm young and am not joining the statistics. Going to beat this.

thanks Kelly Ann for sharing your experience. Were you experiencing pain before you had the procedure? I haven’t really had any pain just a little discomfort from the biopsy. Kinda feel like I’m just jumping in but if it can potentially eradicate it, it’s worth a try! Praying your scan is clear!! Keep me updated. I Am having it done nwxt t

Strangely enough it didn’t really hurt before, I just wanted it to stop growing before something bad happened in my back. After it felt better! Kinda like a sliver you forgot about was suddenly gone. The nagging ache that I had learned to ignore was gone.

The work up and treatment are pretty simple and it is only one treatment.

Kelly Anne I hope you are doing well. How were your scans? I had the SBRT a month ago. CA 15.3 markers are down but still not in normal range- don’t really know what that means but hopeful! Hope you are doing well
