Breast Enhanced Scintigraphy Test (B.E.S.T.) and Oncotype Test
Hi
Does anyone know if B.E.S.T is an option in an country? Seems to be much more comprehensive imaging, but can only find info when the docs were presenting it to boards etc., not sure if it has been taken up yet. I ask because I had high grade DCIS that wasnt found on mmg or us, only when they did a lumpectomy for Paget's disease. So I am trying to find a testing that may relieve worries that there is anything else lurking there, rather than just the options the surgeon gave me of a preventative mastectomy OR just walkd away and have yearly MMG.
And does anyone know anything first hand about Oncotype tests?
Thanks
Eliza

The “doctor" that has the patent for B.E.S.T is a fraud and has had his license revoked. I would be very wary of it, personally

Never heard of BEST. In Greece CESM (contrast enhanced spectral mammogram) is considered even more accurate than breast MRI with contrast as it detects lesions >1 mm whereas MRI detects those who are >3 mm. Hope I've been kinda helpful

Goodness, I did wonder at the time because he was answering people on a forum and it seemed odd, but then when reading through his thesis' it was so comprehensive I thought it had to be legit. Well I never! The forum / website I followed from was Christiane Northrup / Wellbeing - she is vehemently against the whole pink ribbon // mammography etc., was surprised to see how many medics are against it. I was concerned when I read that although the incidents of early cancer being caught had risen significantly since mammography increased, the numbers of invasive cancers discovered did NOT decrease which they should have. Would be interested to see what a doc says about why this is, as I would love to dismiss Christiane Northrup's bias from my head, while I try and make a decision on my predicament - whether to have a mastectomy or just yearly checks........ had Pagets but all mammog and Ultrasound showed clear for anything underlying, but on lumpectomy pahologists discovered high grade DCIS which was removed safely with a healthy margin, but I am wondering what else is lurking in my breast that didn't show up on the mammog and US - so why would I just agree to yearly checks, anything could happen between now and then if something else is lurking??

Christiane Northrup espouses a lot of "bunkum" ideas - one being thermography, which the FDA has specifically issued warnings against using as a breast diagnostic tool.

Thanks, agree!
