Pain in right breast, one area, small pink rash
Hi, trying to cut a long story short.
I am 29, from the Uk, and had breast pain for around 9months in one area (lower inside quadrant) of my right breast. The pain is like a stabbing/shooting and does somewhat feel painful in the rib/chest area near it. It wasn't related to my cycle, it was just all the time.
I was referred to the breast clinic in August last year, I had an ultrasound and nothing was seen. They checked the other breast which was asymptotic, and they found a suspicious lump! I was shocked. They immediately biopsied it and I was so scared. Results back a week later showed Fibroadenoma. I was so relieved and happy I just forgot about it all and went on with my daily life, so happy that I got the other good news. I didn't ask for further investigation into this because of this.
I then fell pregnant in September and both breasts were super painful- I looked at this as just normal pregnancy symptoms and was over the moon we got pregnant.
SO... fast forward to the last few weeks.
My pregnancy sickness has setttled and the breast pain subsided too. I am now 19 weeks pregnant.
Over Christmas my breast pain in the same area of the same breast started up again, this time with the addition of pain in my underarm and in ribs again. Again, it's all the time. Worse when I poke it etc. I only wear a sports bra due to this. The armpit pain disappeared.
Last week, I noticed a red mark/red area in the exact spot of the pain. It is like a slight burn mark and has a shape to it, it's not like a generalised rash you would expect to see. It seems to have somewhat of a border. It is about the size of two eggs? Best way I can describe it.
Google is not my friend and has suggested IBC.
I'm so scared. Pregnancy hormones have me so emotional and I've now panicked I'll never meet this baby or something will happen to her because I'll need treatment etc.
I can't go through the waiting if biopsies again ![]()
I have managed to get an urgent appointment at a breast clinic in a local private hospital, for tomorrow. It's going to cost me a fortune, I don't care though as the worry has me actually vomiting in fear. Not slept for a few nights, partly due to the massive anxiety but it hurts to lie on it ![]()
Please offer some advice/support/similar experiences to a anxious pregnant lady!!
Thanks

Has the area of the skin changes progressed in severity every day since you discovered it? Has the skin become thickened and has it developed the appearance of an orange peel? Has the breast contracted at all? If you close your eyes and feel the skin surface can you tell where the abnormal area is by feel without looking?
Let us know what your doctor says and what the imaging shows.

hi thanks for your reply.
It has not progressed and I discovered the rash one week ago.
I tried closing my eyes and didn't feel like I was able to identify the area by feeling it alone?
I thought it felt a little thicker that area when comparing it to the other breast but unsure? What does “thickness" feel like?
No orange peel and it hasn't contracted. There seems to be one “spot" or “bite" type mark on the outside of the rash. But I have had some spots on my breasts since falling pregnant And put that down to hormones.

something else to note is I feel it is redder on a morning and right before I go to bed.
I’m obsessing over it that much I don’t know if I’m imagining that it seems redder on a morning and night, or if this is actually correct.

Hello17
Not sure if you will see this...but if you do, how did things work out? I have what sounds like the same type of pain in the same spot and I'm 26 weeks pregnant. I go for ultrasound on Monday. I've seen breast surgeon and she couldn't feel any lumps but I told my OB I was worried so she said we should do ultrasound. I'm so worried.
