I had a mastectomy andDIEP flap reconstruction surgery 2 years ago and cosmetic surgery to decrease size and create a nipple 1 year ago and everything has felt normal until now. Recently though I have noticed that my breast feels "off". My breast now feels uncomfortable and is slightly cool to the touch. Can the newly added veins keeping my breat alive fail after all this time? Has anyone else experienced this? Should I worry?

Does it feel harder? You really should go see your surgeon. Insurance covers it as follow up.

I also had the flap reconstruction, but way back in 2007. Even now my breasts can feel quite cool at times. I don't think that is a problem. I did initially have a problem with hardness in one breast. I also used the silicone implants. Everyone's situation is always unique, so you should be advised by your surgeon. I may say something that would cause you to be concerned, when not warranted. If your breast feels hard, then I would definitely speak to someone. I don't think coolness is a concern. I am now 11 years past my reconstruction and all is well. Don't we still always doubt a little. I do. I hope this helps. Take care!

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it, I will try to talk to my surgeon to verify if I have any thing to be concerned about or not.
