Cocktail of inhibitors...

I was found to be chemo resistant so the oncologist wants to put me on a cocktail of hormones. Has anyone been on ovarian suppression, an aromatase inhibitor, an mtor inhibitor, and then zometa as an osteoclast inhibitor all at once??? It seems really aggressive and I'm nervous to put my body though all that at once. I'm 36 and know the super-menopause is going to be rough as it is. Any feedback is appreciated!

***Edited: misread info and will NOT be on Tamoxifen, so I corrected the cocktail abov

I have never heard of anyone being on an AI and Tamoxifen. I would definitely seek a second opinion if I were you.

I agree with Peregrine, they usually do ovarian suppression so you can take an AI INSTEAD of Tamoxifen

I would get a second opinion. Unless that is something experimental they are trying it sounds awfully aggressive.

You are both correct, after looking at everything more thoroughly, I see I will NOT be on Tamoxifen only the AI and other medications. That makes me feel much more comfortable with the route being taken even though it still seems like a lot of medication for the next several years. There was an overwhelming amount of information given to me at that appt,and I misread his notes.

I'm not a doctor but considering your positive lymphnodes number, the treatment plan seems pretty logical if you are intolerant to chemo. I understand it is difficult to be in menopause at 36. To be in a better place, ask to your doctor if you can have vitamin E (for hot flashes) and D (for bones and immune system) . And you can also do a mediterranean diet which is known to ease the menopause.

Interesting that they mention exemestane and not a word about anastrozole.
