wonder how everyone else from our group is doing?

Checking in with all my surgery sisters on the 2 year anniversary. Things have settled into the new norm.
Sending positive thoughts to you, grandma3x. Hoping your biopsy comes back clear. I had a complete hysterectomy December of 2016 bc of the brca 1 test coming back positive luckily everything came back good
Hoping 2018 is filled with good health, peace and happiness for everyone!!!

Today is the two year anniversary of my reconstruction surgery. I recovered well and went back to my usual activities and routines.
About a year later, capsular contraction developed in the left breast. I had a capsulectomy (scar tissue removed, a new implant placed) in June 2017. That recovery went well.
I'm glad that we had this thread together as we went through our surgeries.
Wishing everyone good health, peace and happiness!!

Good to hear from jr114 and Mominator! I'm glad you are doing well.
My biopsy results came back as benign
My relief was short-lived, however, as my 9-year-old grand-daughter was diagnosed a couple hours later with a serious condition that will probably require surgery. They are still doing tests but think she has avascular necrosis. The bone in one of her legs is not getting enough blood so has become necrotic. She has an appointment with a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. we will see what he recommends.
Have a great weekend everyone! -
Grandma3x....I am so so to hear about your granddaughter...I will keep her in my thoughts. So young to be dealing with such issues.
I also want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. I was very thankful for the connections ...it really made me feel like I was not alone in this journey. My cousin goes in for a biopsy on Wednesday...I am praying for a benign diagnosis. The doctor told her he doesn't think it is anything to worry about...doing biopsy for precautionary purposes. Fingers crossed that it is nothing

went for my 2 year checkup today. All good. ❤️. Still having pain and discomfort in spite of lots of massage and stretching and may get a PS consult regarding revision surgery although not sure I could deal with another surgery even in minor. Still can’t wear a bra or prosthetics but happy with my decision to be flat. Trying to eat healthy and do gym 2-3 times a weight but seems impossible to lose weight although no gains either. Labs good. My surgeon moved to nYC to head up BC department at NYU so saw a different surgeon today at BC center but connected well. Glad for this thread and this site. It’s been a stressful 2 years with family issues but we all have stuff to deal with so not complaining. Turning 65 in mid-March and DH and I are going to New Orleans for the weekend. Have not been since pre-Katrina and looking forward to getting back there. Food-art-music-shopping-people all good things. Sending my best to all.

Happy New Year and happy 3 year anniversaries for most of us - for me on January 12th - and as now cancer free although I don’t see my surgeon until end of the month and am waiting on results of a thyroid nodule biopsy which has me nervous. Other that that all is good and I just wanted to check in and send my best to everyone and hope all are doing well.

Happy New Year to everyone!! Just checking in on our 3 Year anniversary. I go for my 3 year check up in February. I still struggle with a little fatigue which seems a little worse in the winter but I think it is due to less activity.
I hope everyone is doing good...
Woodstock99... I am hoping for a negative biopsy result for you.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy 2019.
-
thanks JR114 unfortunately my biopsy was suspicious and 50/50 benign or not and I am feeling pessimistic. Saw surgeon yesterday and I will have to have partial thyroid removal initially. I am so distraught about falling down the rabbit hole again.
-
woodstock99 thinking of you today, and wishing you all the best on your thyroid surgery.
My sister had thyroid cancer. Half her thyroid was removed. She is on replacement thyroid medication. She is doing very well and has been cancer free about 20 years now.
I recognize your avatar but I seem to remember maybe a different user name?

Woodstock 99...sorry to hear that you will be going through more doctoring...ugh! I agree with Mominator about thyroid treatment. A friend of mine had similar surgery and has been on medication for many years and is doing great. I can understand the nerves and stress of dealing with yet another hurdle. Sending positive thoughts your way...
