How much did your Neulasta shot cost?
Comments

Someone is making a ton of money off this. And my hospital claims to be a "not for profit" organization!
-
WHAAAAAT?!?!?!?
Neulasta is covered by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme here is Australia. $1900 a shot, and the PBS covers all but $36.10.
-
first 3 shots were billed to insurance co at $9,600, each. The last one was $10,800 USD. Yikes! Insurance paid much less. 4 chemos (TC) ran about $25,000 each. I cant even begin to fathom the costs for radiation. Each session had many line items. By then I was too tired to even care.
-
My provincial non group benefits plan (in Canada) covered all but $25 of the total of about $2,800 for each. I had 8 shots.
-
I got curious so I pulled up my EOBs online just now. Each Neulasta injection was $11,242 this time around. I cannot believe the difference between this time, and four years ago.
I'm worth far more than my house and undergrad and graduate education combined...just this year alone (and it's only July!) Can't wait to see what it's like after my surgery later this week.
-
My itemized bills showed a cost of over $27000 for EACH shot. Yep! You saw it correctly. I couldn't belive it.
-
$9,000 a shot and my insurance pays 100% of it all (no co-pays). I'm here in the US and I bought "Cadillac" insurance due to all the comorbid conditions that I have. Most people that get TC chemo are getting the Neulasta or Neupogen. My doc hooks me up with the on-body injector so it's no-fuss.
-
my prescription here in New Zealand cost $5 and the nurse came to my house on Saturday night to give it to me.
Needed it for round 2
Round 1 of chemo landed me in hospital for 5 nights so it was $5 well spent

Five years ago upon my first Dx of BC and A/C chemo , Neulasta costs were close to 30,000 US dollars for one injection.
Re Diagnosed second time this past summer , getting CMF chemo, neulasta is still between 15,000 and 20,000 US dollars , even though the patent has expired and other companies can manufacture it.
The self injector is even more.
This is a disgrace.

If anyone of you are having trouble paying for it, go to your social worker/ financial person at your medical facility. A lot of times they offer grants, if you qualify.
-
I had that shot but my Insurance covered all the cost and then I had to stay taking the neupogen shot 3xs a week to keep my WBC up and my Insurance covered that too. I was bless to have very good Insurance.
-
Biosimilar Pegfilgrastim In India costs just 50USD to 100 USD, for a 6mg shot,
-
The year is 2019 and my Blue Cross Blue Shield cost was upwards of $21,000, with a $12,000 discount putting it at roughly $7000. My insurance pays for it, but that is just plain crazy. Other people pay about $9000 - why is that?
-
Anyone with private insurance can look into a copay assistance plan from many manufacturers. I contacted the maker of Neupogen when I found out how much it would cost through my insurance's specialty pharmacy and was able to get it at a greatly reduced copay. I think it ended up being only something like $20.
