What does it feel like to have bone mets?
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone on here could tell me what bone mets feel like/possibly feel like? I was diagnosed 2 years ago at age 36 with stage 1 IDC with estrogen positive, progesterone negative. I had a mastectomy and have blood work done every six months to check levels and so far everything has come back ok. But lately I’ve been having pain in my left wrist, my fingers sometimes cramp up and I have this hard lump on my wrist that was there before I was diagnosed but my whole body feels achy and run down and just really tired. My ankles are starting to hurt which sends pain up my legs. My body is just exhausted that is the best way for me to describe what this feel like. It’s pain yes but it’s more I feel so down and tired all the time. Does any of this sound like it could be mets?

Hi Misty!
Are you doing hormonal therapy (Tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor)? Hormonal therapy can have side effects like the ones you are describing. Be sure to report such side effects to your oncologist; he/she could put you on a different drug that may have fewer side effects.
That hard lump on your wrist is probably a ganglion cyst. (Google it and look at the images.) I have one on my left wrist; my doctor tells me it's harmless. I could get it removed if I cared about the aesthetics, but I don't.
I don't have bone mets, but maybe someone who does will stop by. ((Hugs))

Misty,
Symptoms vary from person to person or you can have no symptoms and still have bone mets (that would be me!). Please don’t try to speculate on what it might be based on others. Give your mo a call and make an appointment so you can figure out what’s going on. Take care

Letrozole and an oophrectomy have left me with old lady joints ( sorry old ladies)
But best tell your medical team

All of your symptoms sound like AI side effects. Are you taking one

I am not taking any hormones. I was on tamoxifen but had a reaction so I’m currently not on anything. It feels like muscle pain and like I’m just tired from working out except I haven’t been working out. I’ve also heard bone mets is extremely painful and that it hurts so bad that it forces you to go to the doctors. I’m a server who is on her feet 12-14 hours a day 6 days a week. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it?? I just get so scared about every little pain!

Misty,
Please read my earlier post. There is no one way that bone mets present. I had no symptoms, no pain. Anyone who has any concerns should see their doctor
