Core biopsy tommorow so scared 😬
Hello I'm new here. I'm 29 and about a month ago found a lump when my boob started hurting. Went to the doctor and she ordered a mamm and an ultrasound. After the ultrasound the radiologist said it was probably nothing and a fibroadenoma since my age but since my family history I needed a biopsy. I looked up fibroadenoma and it doesn't move around but. I'm so scared . I have 3 kids and terrified of cancer!

Hi Laura,
We're so very sorry you're here and worrying, but we're all here for you! Try to remain assured that it's rare for a woman your age to be diagnosed with breast cancer -- and that 90% of biopsies turn out to be benign. What sort of family history do you have?
Please keep us posted on how the biopsy goes tomorrow and what the results are. We're all sending you good thoughts for benign results!

Aw, Lauralee, the waiting is so hard.
I don't know if this context will help, but just in case.
I think the background is that too many doctors would completely poo-poo young women's breast concerns because of how rare breast cancer is for them. The plus side is that young women didn't have to go through these scary weeks that you are going through. The downside is that while breast cancer is young women is very rare, it can happen and when it does, it makes a big difference to catch it early. Some good doctors have started actually treating these issues more seriously. It sounds like you have a good doctor who is being prudent with your health. But it's *still* extremely unlikely that it's cancer.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry that you're going thru this. I have a stereotatic biopsy on the 27th, I feel your pain, I also am terrified, we just have to think positive thoughts. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk.

Laura, how did it go?
-
Hello Brooke ! It went ok not as bad as I thought. They said they would have the results in 2-3 days so praying hard!! Thank you for your support !!
-
Hey salamandra ! Thank you so much . I'm thankful that they didn't just brush me off and looked into it! Also how do I tag y'all's name on the reply?
-
Hi Laura, I don't think there is a way to tag on these posts, at least if there is, I haven't seen it. I have added this post to my favorites so I see when you respond to it. Big prayers going up for you, what is your family history?
-
Oh ok. I know on some peoples replies the person is in bold but anyways if you get notified that's all that matters 😊. My family history for breast cancer is my grandma and my aunt . There's alot of other cancers affecting others in my family but I'm not sure if that matters to this issue.

so did they give any kind of indication during the biopsy? I have no idea what to expect, mine is for calcifications, my mom had breast cancer last year, she had a lumpectomy and radiation and all is good. Trying to stay positive and waiting is hard. I'm thankful that it's actually a busy time of the year to help a little.

so you should know by Christmas?
-
