Newly diagnosed-but not worried...Am I crazy??

I think I'm the only one who wasn't pulling their hair out, lol, over the who thing.
My husband is the one who felt the lump in my breast so I went to the gyno. She did an exam on me and said it probably wasn't cancerous but I should have a mammogram done just to be sure. When I went in for the mammogram done they said there was defiantly a lump there and I should have a bio done to find out if it was cancerous or not. When the test results came back they were positive and told me that I was going to need to have it removed and have chemo and probably radiation done. I'm currently having chemotherapy and I'm not sure if I'll be having the radiation done at the same time or not. I'm going to ask them on Monday when I see them.
I've been keeping a very positive attitude about it, I haven't sat down and cried. I've even been joking about things which is the way I normally am. The only thing that I am upset about is that I'm going to be loosing my hair but when I shave my head I'll probably get over it.

hi ChiSandy, I am new here and searched "focal asymmetry" and your post came up.
I am not diagnosed with breast cancer, just trying to get some insight-I apologize in advance if you're not comfortable with me asking.
I had a mammo last Fri and received the results that day, stating that I needed further testing due to:
There is a focal asymmetry in the left lower outer posterior breast.
There is a focal asymmetry in the right upper outer posterior breast.
I have had comprehensive mammos and US annually due to density issues-but nothing of true concern has ever came back...just a lot of cysts and dense tissue. I have had these tests since I was 28, now 39. So I think that is why I am feeling a way about this all, my mind is wandering I guess, which is what brought me here. I spoke with radiology today and they are waiting on my mammos from my previous provider, and then I will have more answers. Said I am "priority" and they need me to get the other tests expedited, so took care of that today. Wondering if you had any signs/symptoms before your diagnosis...hope you are doing well and thank you for your time!

May I ask did you do chemo? If so was it real bad? I’m just starting my journey and I’m scared

nicnnat3, I’m not the original poster in this thread, but I did chemo and was pleasantly surprised. I was very tired, but that was my main symptom. I had very little nausea. If you look in the chemo section of this forum, you’ll see lots of posters sharing their experiences with different types of chemo. You may need help if you have young kids or work, but for most of us, it is mostly manageable.
Let me know if you have specific questions. I hope it goes smoothly for you.
