Hang in there, it’s only one more. I had hand foot all over my body, goes by another name which I have forgotten.

The symptoms will go away. I’m 7 years out, you CAN do it.

You’ve come so far with your treatment. Hang in there! If the doctors felt like 7 treatments were enough they would only have you do 7. Do you want to have another recurrence and think you didn’t do everything you could this time? I know it’s not guaranteed and this is just my personal opinion. If you haven’t already see about pain meds for now. It should get better after treatment. Just 1 more darling you can do it. You didn’t come all this way to give in early. You pain has probably been there for a little while and you didn’t tolerate it all these weeks to not finish. That said...talk to your MO about this and know what you can/should do. You are the one who lives in your body, not us or your MO, so you have to be ok with what you do/don’t do at the end of the day. Hugs and I hope the pain will ease soon after treatment and not get any worse in the meantime.

I was so sick from my second to last chemo treatment and wasn't sure I wanted to do the last one. But I never wanted to second guess myself if it came back, thinking "oh I wish I'd done that very last one" Your choice of course. You can always cancel at the last minute if you feel that you just can't do it. I did mine 9 years ago. good luck.

I'm sorry you're suffering so much from it.
Has your MO team advised you on treatments to try to offset the side effects? Are you icing during the taxotere? Have you been taking any supplements which can help with neuropathy?

Have you discussed a dose reduction instead of stopping treatment?

sunshine-speak to your doctor. A decrease in dosage might be a better alternative than canceling the last tx. Ultimately, it's your decision to make. You know what you can endure. These decisions are never easy. You are 30 years younger than I am and I can't imagine having to make these decisions at your age. Best of luck to you.

I agree with everything that is being said...if you don’t do it, you may regret it down the line. I wanted to quit my last two treatments. I literally cried the entire time in the chair for my second to last treatment because I was so over it and the side effects. Just as jo6359 said, see if the dosage can be lowered. The marathon always seems impossible yet so close in the last leg of the race. You’re almost there...you can do it!

Dear Sunshine, have you already tried icing your hands and feet in order to minimise neuropathies?

I agree with icing; perhaps they can decrease your dosage or use Taxol instead of Taxotere next time.

    Sunshine,

Oh honey, don't give up! You've come so far. Talk to your oncologist and see if there's anything he/she can do to help you more. Breast cancer is an awful disease, and I'm so very sorry you are having to do this at such a young age.....but try to finish. It will help with the worry later, and you'll know you did everything you could to keep it away.

By January 2nd, you'll likely be feeling better by then.

    Big, big hugs.

I find this very interesting. When I was in the throws of my major chemo treatments. I had done four ac and he had marked me for 12 abraxane to follow after some surgeries. When I reached round nine. My hands were numb, my feet were toast and I couldn’t feel my toes when I walked. When I mentioned that to him. He said you’re done. He said usually oncologists issue more than they think you may need to assure that the insurance isn’t An issue , and each patient handles chemo differently! Communicate strongly how you’re feeling. A doseage change could also be in order. Remember It’s your body. Much love ~M~

actually i don't have neuropathy...i have hand and foot syndrome...where skin of my hands and feets become red and purple and very swollen...with burning pain ... its very very sensitive to touch ...even i cant bear touching of fabric with my foot ... and after couple of days my skin become black and it peeled of ... most importantly when i elevate my hand and foots thn i feel no pain ... but when i try to sit or walk i feel alooooot of pain due to blood circulation...:( today i went to ONC she gave me more pain medication and some ointment for skin...and she said next chemo as scheduled...and she also lowered my dosage last time but it was not helpful:

Sunshine I agree with Micmel and had a similar experience with AC then 12 abraxane . After 8 suddenly had much worse nueropathy and pain in all fingers, toes, teeth, muscles, joints, and it got worse after a week off tx. My Mo's response was that I wasn't going to tolerate 12 without risking longterm quality of life and that 1 or 2 more tx would not make much difference in affecting the cancer so he stopped the chemo. Also my sx was after chemo and turns out they found the aggressive cancer was gone, and cancer cells left in tumor bed were very indolent--MO said more chemo would not have had any effect on that cancer since it was too slow growing and chemo only works on rapidly dividing cells. Wishing you wellness and healing.

Sunshine I should have mentioned the fact that I Understand you're situation is not quite the same and I'm not so familiar with the particular SE's you are experiencing. They may well be something that completely goes away as soon as you stop treatment unlike the neuropathy and myalgia. Therefore I am glad that you feel good about your MO encouraging you to go forward and knowing you will have done all you can. Lets all continue to keep faith that this is the last time we will be dealing with this 🙏
