Can anyone tell me if it is normal to be discharged 8 hours after a double mastectomy? That's the case and it doesn't seem right.

    My doc had me stay overnight 1 night, but my sister-in-law had a friend who was discharged on the same day. Not sure what is considered normal!

    I stayed overnight but honestly could have probably gone home same day. I felt so much better to be at home!

    If you’re not ready to be discharged, please talk to your care team!

    Hi Packajet! Discharge protocol will differ from hospital to hospital and patient to patient. But we echo what Wigging2000 said - if you're not comfortable being discharged, please discuss it with your surgical team and attending physician!
