Silicone in lump nodes

* lymph nodes.

I found a lump under my axilla and had an ultrasound. They biopsied the solid lump and an enlarged lymph node which was found during ultrasound. Results came in today. Silicone in my lymph nodes. I had cohesive gel implants placed 5 years ago. Breast Surgeon says not to worry about it. Anyone else have this and what was if anything was done? I was on a car accident 1 month after reconstruction but no imaging was ordered. My only follow up has been annual exam with breast surgeon.

    I do not know much about it but would request a second opinion.

    I have silicone lymphadenopathy. It’s awful. I had a ruptured left implant caused by my first mammo. I had my implants taken out this year and it only got worse. I have 5-8 nodes full of silicone that are huge and fused together causing all kinds of problems. My surgeon says my issue is extremely rare. One or two nodes is rare enough in itself. Silicone tracking to lymph nodes only occurs in about 2-3% of ruptured according to my breast surgeon. If you have silicone in your axillary node(s), you probably have a rupture. They couldn’t tell 100% if I had a rupture, even on the silicone MRI protocol because it was very subtle. Silicone lymph nodes on ultrasound is very easy to see as it causes a “snowstorm” effect. I’m not sure drs doanything about one or two nodes unless they’re are very large. Im having a partial ALND next Thursday.

    Wow, thank you for sharing. I am sorry you are going through this. I am going back to my plastic surgeon to check my implants and to see where else the silicone may have gone. So far I only know of the 2 lymph nodes but only the left axilla was checked. One is palpable but not painful. Praying your surgery goes well Thursday.
