Hello, I’m new here I was just diagnosed on November 7th at the age of 34, with breast cancer.. it is not hereditary and does not run in my family, my hormones basically created this. The tumor is 8 1/2 cm x 5 cm I am hormone positive and her negative. I started my hormone therapy a little over two weeks ago got my first shot and taking the daily pill blocker. Today I have a biopsy planned for potentially being coming part of a trial for Ibranace. Which is already approved by the FDA, but only for matasicsized cancer, which I don’t have. I only have a huge cancer tumor. I was hoping to reach out to all of you to see how your body is were affected by taking that pill. 21 days on and 7 days off. The main reason I’m asking is because I opted to be a part of this clinical trial and I just wanna make sure that I’m aware of all the side effects.

Hey Bubbles. I am Stage IV and I’ve been taking 125 mg Ibrance and letrozole for about 18 months. I have minimal SE - a mild rash, a hive once in a while, weight gain (15 lb, but could be the letrozole), thinning hair but not noticeable. They will monitor your white blood cells and so far mine have been o.k. so I can take the 125 mg. I wonder about shortness of breath at times but I also have mets in my lungs. I’ve been able to stay quite active - mtn biking, hiking, walks, a couple big backpacks, weight lifting but I can’t do these activities at the same level. Good luck to you! I’ll be interested in the results

Thank you this is very helpful! What about intercourse? Does your partner need to wear a condom like with other chemo treatments. Just trying to get answers so I can plan accordingly :

I’ve been on Ibrance for 17 cycles. The only se’s I’ve experienced is a little fatigue, a little weight gain and thinning hair. None are bothersome or have impacted my life. I’m not 100% sure they came from Ibrance.. seems like all of the drugs they have us on have similar se’s. Ibrance has been very effective for me... I happily take that VERY expensive pill 21 nights in a row
