I have a question. I finished radiation in late July. I noticed my nipple had a crusty coating. I peeled it off and sort of forgot about it. It's November now and I got the nerve up to check it again. It was completely covered again. I'm scared that it's Paget's disease (breast cancer again). I'm hoping it's from radiation, but I'm scared. I see RO for followup the day after Thanksgiving. Was hoping to postpone, but guess I won't. Maybe move it up.

Have any of you also experienced this crusting?

Marymc86 I had that on my nipple too, I do believe it is from radiation, I just kept putting lots of aquafor on it. I never peeled it off so I wouldn't know if it would come back. Good idea to ask your RO though. I finished radiation in August.

Marymc86 - I have that. The skin on the nipple is different than the skin on the breast and I think it's just part of the healing. Keep it moisturized, don't soak in bathtubs, and I'd say to not pick the layers, just let them fall off on their own.

Thanks. I saw my RO today. She doesn't think it's cancer, but wants me back in a month after my mammogram. She prescribed a steroid cream and told me to do what y'all just told me. Thanks for letting me know others have had this, too. They said it usually does not occur.

    Hello Everyone,

I had my first post treatment PET scan this week. It came back clear. I will have one done every three months for a while. I will see my oncologist every three months also.

A few more appointments with my PS and RO remain. A year ago I was getting a test done every other day it seemed to locate my Cancer's origin. I was first diagnosed based on a lymph node biopsy.

Everyone's posts helped me. Thank you. Looking forward to our continued progress.

    Prayers and encouragement for all.

Good news on the clear scan. PET scan every 3 months are pretty good monitoring.

NVDobie - I am not taking hormone therapy due to my cancer type.

I will keep my three month schedule to closely monitor my post treatment progress.
