ALT level

Options

5 months ago ALT was at 48, current ALT 57. Had this happened to anyone? MO wanted me to stop letrozole and retest in 3 weeks. Or just retest in 3 weeks. I can't stop taking as I am too nervous and scared to stop the drug. So I am retesting in 3 weeks. MO says if still elevated will change Drug. Has this happened to anyone ?? can elevated ALT be due to AI? Nervous and concerned.

Both the AIs and Tamoxifen can do this in some people.

Thank you!!!! Trying to remain calm. I would think something else would be going on if I really needed to worry, but you never know.

I'm glad the MO is retesting it and following it to be sure. It sounds like he/she is really on top of things.

I had my ALT/AST spike during chemo and I remember my MO telling me to discontinue my Lipitor and not to take any tylenol. She said both were hard on the liver. Just a thought that may or may not apply to you. Hope your retest comes back great.

I had my ALT spike due to a cholesterol drug Atorvastatin (Lipitor). Mr. Dr said that an ALT of 59 was manageable as it was much more desirable than high cholesterol. I had a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or pre-stroke once.

My wife is/was Stage 4 TNBC but the third chemo she tried eribulin, work, she is now cancer free. It totally wiped out all her too numerous to count spinal and hip mets. Her oncologist is having her continue with push type infusions until her next PET/CT in mid-January. Halaven (eribulin) has some nasty SE's though.
