After living with MBC for 4.5 years and brain mets for almost 3 years, I’ve officially been on every treatment possible, no more trails to try. My brain mets are causing significant neurological issues that are irreversible,

That being said, I know I’ll be leaving a strong legacy, that most 37.5 years olds would be incredibly proud of. I officially signed up for home hospice care yesterday but nobody is expecting anything to happen immediately; just prepping for the eventuality and getting the equipment to help me navigate around when I’m by myself, like railings around the toilet and a bedside table for my laptop and to help me to work off on,I still work remotely 20 hours a week!

Becs, you are a rock star and will definitely leave a strong legacy. I hate to hear that any of us have to take the step of filling out "the paperwork" but you are wise to set up everything now so you don't have to worry about it later. Please keep us posted.

thanks everyone for the kind and thoughtful words! They mean a lot to me! There are a lot of restrictions around what/where and how I’m allowed to go places while I still can.

The plan is when I’m ready, I’ll take the morphine they provided

Becs, I have followed your posts since I first joined these discussion boards. I remember when you accomplished your goal of visiting all 50 states, really visiting them, not just stopping at the airport. I watched the video that featured you. You have been a source of support for many of us here. I hate this disease and what it does to us. I wish I could do something to change things. You remain a strong force in this world. You have things planned, and you are continuing to live each day as it is given to you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

    Becs,

Is that morphine for pain control or an exit plan?

You are exploring frontiers that scare me. I'm so proud of you.

Becs511...when reading your post all I could think of is how unfair this horrible disease is! You are way too young to be going through this. I would like to commend you on calling in Hospice early in your journey. As a RN with Hospice experience, most people wait way too long. Hospice is a wonderful organization with so much support for you and your family. They will help you live your best life. My heart goes out to you. You are one brave women. WE NEED A CURE!

Becs - I haven't been on BCO in ages, but I logged in tonight hoping for an update from you. I'm glad to hear you are able to still work remotely part time. I know how important your work is to you. I think it is amazing the way you have adapted to these new changes in your life. You, my dear, are a beautiful example of resilience, and I wish you joy and comfort and peace.

Dear Becs, Ditto to what everyone is saying- I'd like to think you are just taking a cleansing break from all the toxicity and stress, and that in the new year something marvelous pops up, and if not we all are headed down this road you're traveling and hugely appreciative for all the insights that you care to share...

Oh my goodness.. again at a loss for words. I am very sorry to her parents. No one should have to worry about cancer at 37.5 years aged. Nor have to let go of a child. I just hate this disease. Taking it everyday is all we can do. But days like these are very difficult to process. No more pain sister. No more limits to where you can go or what you can do now ! Much love ~M~
