BACK PAIN

Options

So I have been lurking for quite awhile but I find after all the craziness of initial diagnosis and surgery I am actually worse off now. First and foremost, I have been having right hip knee and groin pain intermittently even before I knew about the breast cancer. Everyone told me it was musculoskeletal and to see an orthopedist. Had some xrays. Probably bursitis. Well now my back has been hurting for a couple of weeks. It’s not all the time and feels like burning. Told the oncologist, now I have a bone scan on 12/20. I am FREAKING out! Praying this is due to the exemestane and zoladex. If so, I can deal with it. Need to start exercising, but haven’t yet. I have 3 little kids! This is so hard!Anyone have any similar symptoms on ai and zoladex

My MO has always told me that pain that comes and goes is typically not cancer related. AIs make existing pain worse in my opinion. It’s good that it is being checked though

thank you kbeee for your encouraging response. Some days I feel so positive and then these pains put me in a really dark place. Going to try to think positive. Maybe try to move up the scan so I don’t go crazy

Definitely try to get it moved up. Definitive answers always help; it's so hard to have this hanging over your head.

happy New Years! Just wanted to share that I received results today that showed normal bone scan! Would love to know what I can do to get rid of this back pain. I am on zoladex with exemestane which I want to stay on. I will do anything to reduce risk of recurrence. Would love to feel like 40 instead of 90 though

    Congratulations! That is really awesome!

I'm one of those with horrible pain due to side effects of AIs and chemo. I can tell you what helps me a bit.

First, check Puritan Pride for a supplement with glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM. They have the best price for it. Second, CBD oil. I personally take it in vaping form as it's going in the blood stream the fastest. Third, walk. It's not instant, but after 6-8 weeks you'll start feeling better.

thank you for the tips! I actually have a script for pt and will get started with that. Walking and glucosamine also sound promising
