Does hormones affect reconstructed breasts?

I always had painful swollen breasts before my period, but not once since I had my preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction 3 years ago - but a couple of days ago it started again..am a couple days late for my period (could be pregnant; although home test says no) so wanted to know if anyone else had same pms painful swollen breasts issue after mastectomy?

Or maybe when they became pregnant? Or should I be worried and have it checked? My breasts are seriously a third bigger and warm.

    I would think that if they got all of the breast tissue then they should not react to hormones extremely. I would run the question by your breast surgeon though.

    Thanks.. have not felt any difference during or close to my period the past 3 years and now all of a sudden it's as extreme as if it were my old breasts.

    Just wondered if anyone pregnant post mastectomy have felt anything.
