Radial Scars: Excisional Biopsy Surgery Questions

Hello all,

I had my Excisional biopsy a few days ago and was wondering how long did you keep your sports bra on? For a week? 24/7? Since it's tight, I'm wondering if you took breaks from it.

I also have a semi-formal event I have to go to today, but still have the small bandages on. Any advice on type of tops that still looked nice but still protected your area? Still wear my sports bra under, right?

And, curious, if the surgery affected your period cycle at all. Because, I felt it coming on the day of surgery, but then I never got it. Could the stress of surgery affect your cycle?

Thanks and happy healing from surgery.

Had a few questions a couple days ago that I got answers for so I'll post here. I don't see many threads for radial scars, so feel free to use this one if any come up for you as well.

I had to attend a semiformal event quite soon after surgery, and I found that wearing a turtleneck dress worked well to hide my bandages, bruises, and sports bra in case anyone has a similar situation.

However, I was exhausted the day after and had to rest because I ended up having pain at surgery site and my neck and back were killing me. I'm not sure why I had such strong ache pains, but taking a break from the tight sports bra helped.

My cycle did get delayed. I guess my body reacted to the stress of surgery. Was your period shorter than usual after surgery?

I still have bruising and random pains every now and then, but nothing intolerable. Today marks a week, and I went to work yesterday for the first time. It was ok.

I know that my surgery in comparison to the more complex breast surgeries in these forums is small, but I can't help but feel invaded. I feel a little used by the medical system. How is it possible to discern between necessary and unnecessary surgeries and treatments? This is such an emotional rollercoaster ride.
