Mastectomy bulges under arms

Snickersmom, I so appreciate your long reply. I had a nice visit with my sister on Friday evening. I'm glad your nerve pain has reduced and the Gabapentin helps. It's great that your revision surgery has helped you feel much better!! I'm sorry someone gave you a hard time about taking Zoloft. We are each individuals with our own struggles and no one should tell you that you should be over things faster than you are, especially in ongoing situations like dealing with having a malignant tumor and ha.
I'm glad you enjoyed your 6 lovely wonderful weeks spent in Australia 4 years ago. We do have some lovely scenery and weather. I live further south in Melbourne. I have been to Sydney, Cairns and Tassie. It would be great if you could come back and see more.
I agree it's good to feel more connected from being on this forum. I find it hard to know where I fit in though since I don't have cancer but I've had a double mastectomy and my twin sister has cancer.

aussiecat - you may not have had cancer but you have gone through or are going through all of the emotional crap we feel, so don't sell yourself short. This is a horrible journey and no matter what the circumstances, it's very hard. This is where you need to be - on these pages that are so full of support.
Yes, I fell in love with what I saw and did in Australia and I would love one day to go back and see more. It's a beautiful country full of wonderfully friendly people and I loved every minute of my 6 weeks there.
I'm glad you are spending lots of great time with your sister. I am sure she appreciates having you there with her.

Snickersmom, thank you for including me and being sympathetic. Yes, it's been a very hard journey.

Aussie-Cat - Absolutely no thanks needed. You have as much right to be on these boards as any of the rest of us. You had a BMX. It doesn't matter that it was prophylactic. It was still a BMX. You are not only going through the emotional and psychological crap, but you also have to deal with your twin sister having breast cancer. So you really have had a double whammy. As I said before, don't sell yourself short.
You are one of us and we are here for you. Hang in there and keep posting.

Snickersmom, sending you hugs.

You would need to see a plastic surgeon for revisions. I have smaller ones so have been putting it off but will probably do it eventually. Ask your surgeon if he can recommend a plastic surgeon that is familiar with this type of work.

JuliaJazz, I haven't even seen my surgeon since my surgery in June!! I have seen the registrars at the public hospital a few times and I'm due for another appointment soon but they are taking their time getting around to it. Because I don't have insurance, I don't have a lot of choices but I will ask to see a plastic surgeon when I next get to see someone.
