HI. So I saw a breast surgeon to see if I should have a very large mass removed from my Axillary. After another US & biopsy she says she would leave it alone. That's all she said. Every question I asked she said"leave it alone" .... She doesn't recommend removing it. It will go away on its on. " Meanwhile the mass or cyst doubled. So now there are two. I have pain all under my arm, down my arm, my breast, my kneck, shoulder, behind my shoulder.... I feel like I'm being left hanging.

But here is what I'm not understanding, the DIAGNOSIS: 1. Solitary cyst of right breast 2. Diffuse Cystic Mastopathy of Unspecified Breast and 3. Neoplasm of Uncertain Behavior of right breast.

What does this mean?!!! I'm confused. I want a second opinion. But don't know if I should. I don't want to give myself more health problems.

Thx

Those are diagnostic/billing codes from/for the insurance company and should not be construed as the results of your studies or your biopsy. They were likely chosen BEFORE your studies were done so that your ins company reimburses your doctor/hospital properly/optimally. They are not a part of your report.

Do you have the pathology report from the biopsy? That will more likely contain the answer to your question(s).

it's always okay to get a second opinion! different doctors explain things in different ways, and seeing another physician might help you understand exactly what's going on with this mass. it's totally okay to call another surgeon's office and request an appointment for a second opinion, or you may wish to see your gynecologist, who likely can review the results with you and provide an opinion on next steps. Good luck to you!
