21 days since diagnosis and worried about growrh

hi, I was diagnosed 21 days ago and I had to do all the testing to optimize my treatment plan and I still have one more on Friday but I am worried that my tumor will grow. I just want it out and get my treatment started. I have asked my surgeon, nurse navigator and someone else that works at the office this question and they have all assured me that it wasn't growing and that the average wait time from diagnosis to surgery can be 30 days. But I'm still worried.

    It took a little over a month for my treatment to start after diagnosis and my tumor grew about half a centimeter in that time.

    I should say though that mine was triple positive, not triple negative, had a high mitotic rate.

    It took a month from my diagnosis to my surgery, which was the first step on my treatment. I, too, wanted it out ASAP.

    However, the time was filled with tests and strategizing my treatment plan. It also gave me the time to tell family in person (which required travel) and round up the help I would need from family and friends.

    The amount of growth of the tumor, not much in my case, was offset by the caution required for a positive outcome that keeps your heart safe and sets baseline information against which further tests can be compared.

    winelvr1, it took almost exactly a month for my LX after my DX. Seemed like forever and a day. It is a very anxious time. Try to stay busy while you wait. You will feel better when you start treatment, regardless of the treatment plan they recommend for you. Maybe you can get them to set up a tentative date while you wait. Pretty soon it will be in your rearview mirror! Best wishes.

    It took me a few weeks to get everything going, too. My MO even said we could take a vacation to prep for the journey ahead! I said, no way, let’s get this show on the road. They assured me that I wasn’t at risk. I tried to look at it as giving us time to make sure we were making smart decisions. Good luck, I know it’s very stressful.

    Waiting is the most frustrating part, but you want to make sure all the scans and tests are done. Information is an important part of the battle plan. Think of it as collecting intel on the enemy, lol. The wait I did not expect was between chemo & surgery. I had to wait 6 weeks and felt like what’s the point of fighting the cancer, then letting it grow before removing it. That’s how I felt anyways. It definitely sucks
