I had a double mastectomy in April 2018, and the exchange in August of 2018. I had nipple sparing surgery and textured implants (because of very thin skin). I think my new breast look amazing but they are very tight, and definitely don't feel like a part of me. Anyone have any idea when they will feel more like me? tnx

I had BMx with direct to implant, nipple sparing with the textured implants. So my path slightly different than yours. But my foobs began to feel softer, less like big boulders sitting on my chest, around month 4. What was very key for me however was to gently massage in the shower with a damp washcloth. I had some issues with scar tissue so I also was sent to a medical massage therapist to release the areas. Don't be afraid to gently sensitize your new chest, it will help with the healing process. I would also say my right foob feels almost normal meaning I don't even think about it. My left side (cancer side) still a little less but it is improving.

Tnx for the input. I neglected to mention I had six of radiation on left side so the skin is a bit of nightmare but improving everyday. I’ll make sure I massage frequently. Tnx for the tip.

Will be having mastectomy on left side with immediate reconstruction starting with tissue expander. Need advice on the “when I get home” part! Clothing, best way to bath, I know showers are not an option. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Apologies on posting this here but since your surgery was recent, I thought I would put this here regarding textured implants.

ya my PS told me the risks. She was pretty confident that other factors are involved. And because of a variety of reasons I wasn’t a candidate for the smooth round. But Tnx for sharing

just soft clothing that is super easy to get on and off. Assuming you will go home with drains and that bra they give you in hospital. I wore super loose sleeveless T-shirt and zip up hoodie. I was told I could share with my back to water after 72 hours Good
