Not diagnosed and scared
I have large boobs and recently the R one started hurting on and off and upon searching i found a lump im the 6 o clock area. The lump is hard but softish edges and I'm not sure what to think. The R boob is bigger in size but no changes to the nipple or anything else that I've noticed. The only change is that I'm sleepy alot. Like ALOT! So question to the ladies in recovery, what was your symptoms? What first alerted you that u may have breast cancer? My lump is abt as long as the first two lines in my index finger and abt that width and its grown a bit since august when i first discovered it. Any advice? Thanks alot!

You found it in AUGUST? Have you been to your doctor? Everyone's symptoms are different and many of us had no symptoms, and the tumors were found on mammograms or other imaging THAT OUR PHYSICIANS ORDERED. Why on earth would you wait this long?

Mystic, I found my first lump due to a shooting pain in my right breast also. after a week the pain was very very dull but consistent and paired with sporadic shooting pain. It was only about the size of a ball point pen tip. My type of breast cancer is aggressive and went from stage 0 to 3 in about 4 months time. Please start the process of getting your lump diagnosed. It’s something until you know for a fact it’s nothing. And it is a process so I hope you don’t get discouraged. I had to fight to get an ultrasound and mammogram due to age, but it was worth it! Cancer can cause a lot of weird things. I too was much more tired than normal and I was also a little bit nauseous from time to time. I hope you get it looked at and let us know how you are doing. This is a wonderful community of support and information diagnosis or not.

Hubby is away at training till January and i have two small kids with no family to help look after them. Otherwise i would've gone already. Its a huge sacrifice

Alice, I had somewhat the same initial reaction as you did. But people usually have reasons. Some people have a lot of emotional stress around medical treatment, or logistical stress (which it sounds like is the case for Mystic), or financial stress (not everyone knows about the help options available, or might stress about missing paid work time or losing their job for taking time off, even if the actual medical costs are covered).
Mystic, Alice is really right though. You need to get this in front of a doctor. Bring your kids to the appointment if you need to. Or call on a friend or even an acquaintance - some people are really really good at stepping up in cases of need like this, and you often don't know who it is until you ask. I get that it can be hard to ask. I hate asking for help.
But this is important and urgent, and ultimately taking care of yourself is part of taking care of your kids.
I could help google local resources for you if that would be helpful?

Is your husband in military training? There should be spousal and family support services to help with your kids. Do you belong to a church? They can probably help or direct you to someone who can. You are not doing your family (or, obviously, yourself) any favors by putting this off and letting something that might have been an easy fix turn into a major situation. If I'm a bit harsh, it's from a "been there and regret it" point of view - not cancer at the time, but an injury I didn't take care of that is affecting me decades later.

Thank you ladies. He's in the police academy training and i live in the Caribbean. The options here aren't that great but i reached out to someone in my religious group and hopefully its helpful. I know the sooner i know the better.
