Found a lump myself this time,

I just found a lump and went back to the doctor to get it checked out. They want me to monitor over the next month. If it grows its good and if it doesn't its bad. What do they do for lumps that are benign? You just leave them in and let them grow or do they drain them? Its the size of a pea right now. Its awful having no idea whether there normal or not as cancer can be bad if it spreads.

I put all this behind me and now I have concerns again. They are also keeping an eye on a mass too that wasn't discussed much with me on my last mammogram.

I do self examinations now twice a month.

    I would absolutely insist on imaging.

    My docs were “sure” my recurrence was benign.

    They were wrong.

    I have had other lumps that have been benign. Ask for ima

    I do go back in a month . He refuses to give imagaing right now as I just had a mammo and ultrasound 3 months ago . They did find a mass that they are going to keep an eye on every six months. If this lump doesn't grow like he said . I'm demanding another test . Its just hard to know whether a lump is cancerous or not. wish you could tell yourself somehow. Thanks for the adivice. I'm keeping an eye on my lump for sure. Scarey stuff.

    Princess0303 - what is your previous history? You don't say, so that would help to know.

    That said, I think it is crazy they are not checking this out stat.

    My previous history is as follows . I had cancer in my left breast. It wasn't aggressive but had the ability to turn aggressive if I didn't have surgery. I ended up having a lumpectomy followed by 4 wks of radiation that ended in May of 2018. A mass showed up on my Mammogram but they said it was benign and then I found a lump a two months later. I have an appointment on the 17th of December. If the surgeon feels it is benign . Will they usually do a mammogram again ?

    I would think they would repeat imaging; you can discuss biopsy if the imaging is invo
