Feeling Nervous
I was having right sided breast pain for a few months and then started to have an increase in size and then the area around the nipple began to look different.
I finally went to the OB/GYN to get checked out. She was concerned because the size difference was so visibly apparent. She sent me immediately to the hospital for a diagnostic mammogram on both side and an ultrasound on the right side. I did the mammogram first and someone came in during the ultrasound and told the tech there was something in the 6 o'clock area of the left breast and to scan that also.
The doctor told me if she got results over the weekend she'd call me. Between her sending me immediately and telling me she may contact me over the weekend I am feeling very scared. I'm also having increased breast pain on the right side (assuming from the mammogram).
I am having a hard time waiting and just don't know what to expect. When I looked up symptoms the size increase and pain looked like it is usually associated with inflammatory breast cancer and I've seen that is more aggressive. I don't have any sort of rash or skin changes so that is obviously good.
Does anyone have a similar story with a good outcome? Or any ideas on getting through the waiting?
Thanks for any replies.

The waiting is simply the worst!! We all get it. Really the best way, if possible, is to occupy your time, take walks, watch movies, do things to help distract yourself from the thoughts. It can be a very difficult mind-game. There is no way for us to give you any outcome, though we truly hope everything is benign!!
We're here for you.

Thank you for the support!! Good advice too, I have been spending way too much time over thinking and trying to come up with all possible scenarios instead of trying to find things to take my mind off it.

I'm in a similar position with similar pains. My ultrasound results came back and I'm now waiting for my appointment in 2 days to speak with the doctor.
The waiting has been so difficult. Also lost my dad a day after being called about the results. Now I just feel so lost and scared. I've been watching Netflix to keep my mind off the doctor's appointment, while responding to condolences for my dad.
This is such a stressful time.
