A year ago I was diagnosed with stage 1b breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy and radiation and I am currently on Tamoxifen. About a month ago I had what felt like a lump on my rib just under my breast (the side with cancer). I was afraid I was imagining things so I just watched it. A few weeks ago I started to get itchy in that area and now (for about a week) the are is red. The lump seems a little bigger. I have an appointment with my doctor in a few days but I am nervous. Has anyone else had this? Any thoughts?

Definitely show it to your Dr.

I don't want to freak you out, but I had some skin changes and a lump within a year of going through treatment, and mine turned out to be a local recurrence of my IDC and the beginnings of skin metastasis.

A biopsy is the only way to know for sure. I eventually had a punch biopsy, which was very minimally invasive. Unfortunately mine was "watched" for a while, and we lost valuable time.

Hugs, and wishing benign results for you.

Thank you for responding. It feels better to know I have some people to talk to that understand how I am feeling.

I am scared too. I had my 5 yr mammogram 3D on 10-29-18, good clear scan birads 1 negative. My Surgical oncologist is at a different hospital all outside images have a consult mammography. I was called 5 days later telling me I need additional views, spot compression and ultrasound. I was devastated. They found a mass 3-4 mm 5 cm from nipple. I am schedule for an ultrasound Guided Breast biopsy and I’m terrified.

    Fear we live in.
