I saw my radiation oncologist today and he asked if I was on hormones. I said, yes, birth control pills (I'm 74). He and his nurse cracked up. Gotta laugh a lot during this cancer journey.

Good one, marijen. I'll have to remember that line next time I see my regular oncologist.

Afterall, it is like getting microwaved. I doubt I would do it again except if I get bone mets.

I made the radiology tech's laugh when I deadpanned at the last treatment "Is this the day you remove the tatto's?" The young man started "I'm sorry, no I'm afraid those are permanent" - though he got the joke was on him when me and the other tech laughed.

I posted this in another thread sometime ago.

Before my first radiation treatment after they laid me on the table, the young technician started putting a band around my feet. I said out loud "shades of gray," and the poor girl leaped back with a strange look on her face. I started laughing and told her that I've never seen the movie or read the book, but had recently seen a delightful movie called "Book Club" (Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen and Diane Keaton) and that's the only reason I even thought of it. Anyway, we had a good laugh. On my last day of treatment, I asked if I could have the band....they didn't give it to me.

Good one, MickeyB17. I sometimes thought the tatoos would never come off. They did, but sure took their time.
