Herceptin Only for 12 weeks or 13?

I recently had my 8th Herception only infusion after the 3 months of Taxol & Herceptin. The nurse was reviewing my schedule, and I thought I was complete after 12 Herceptin. Nope. Looks like the original order was for 13 every three weeks. Would like to know what the standard is for others before I question MO.

    I was originally scheduled for 13 cycles of Hercpetin. But my oncologist cancelled the 13th cycle and stopped me after 12. He said it usually given for 1 year total. I started chemo in April 2017 and finished the Herceptin cycles in May 2018. I hope that helps!

    Thanks so much for the info. The nurse at the infusion center, said some get 12 and some 13. Maybe MO will drop the last one! I guess I had mentally prepared myself for 12, so was really disappointed. In the scheme of things, it is just one more, but still...

    I was really disappointed when he said 13, too. But then I was really excited when he said he would drop it back to 12!! But also a little worried. I kept asking him if he was "sure" it would be OK to skip that last one. Of course he said there were no guarantees but he said I should be fine.

    I'm dropping my last one as it is scheduled for next January. I don't want to reach my out of pocket during the first month of the year again. My MO is fine with this.
