I don't know if I'm posting in the correct place but has anyone had an MRI where the table starts vibrating and shaking? I've had several MRI's over the years but yesterday the noise was deafening (wore ear plugs) and the table started shaking so much I got scared.

I don't remember if it was shaking but the noise was AWFUL, and i was afraid to move a muscle, in case i had to do it all over. I hated it!

I agree, I didn't want to move either otherwise it would have to be repeated. I'm going to check in with the radiology dept. when I go there next about the machine's violently shaking. I also noticed a bruise on my hip this morning and wondering if it was from knocking against the sides during the shaking.

I spoke with the MRI Supervisor today about my experience last time. He said that the noise and the shaking is a "diffusion weighted" MRI and that yes, it causes the machine to shake like that. I've never had that type before but I'm guessing that it's to get more clarity to the images after surgery and radiation.
