I am worried of this. I asked one Doctor for a biospy but he refused and said that he will be criticized for doing so.

Is loose cluster microcalcification common benign diagnosis?

I need enlightenment thank

Hi Milagro, I'm pretty sure that clusters of microcalcifications are a fairly common benign finding. But, I had that finding on my first mammogram, so I recommend you dont worry about it BUT don't skip any mammograms, because, rarely they can become cancerous. I didn't keep up with my mammograms. If I had, I would have caught my cancer at a much earlier, and easier to treat stage. Not to worry you, but do your annual mammo!

Yes, loose clusters of micro calcifications as opposed to other configurations such as linear clusters are often just watched and not biopsied. I have researched this a lot this week for myself. Try looking on the internet for "The Radiologist Assistant: Breast Calcifications Differential Diagnosis". This article is very intensive with pictures of the different types of clusters discussing which ones get which Bi-Rad rating. I found it very helpful although as a lay person I found the film hard to read. Would trade with you as I have a linear cluster and will have a biopsy this Wednesday. Hope this helps. Polly

Guys, I went for a second opinion this morning. My doctor compared my mammogram film last 2017 vs 2018. My microcalcifications were there since last year with no changes. She said it is benign but she has to take some magnified view of my left breast. The radiologist says all good. To God be the glory

I wish you all luck. Thank you for replying to my first msg.

    Mila
