I went for a follow up mammogram and ultrasound today after the initial mammogram showed asymmetry and architectural distortion. The radiologist found a 5mm mass and has recommended a biopsy. I know nothing is certain until the results come back but I'm almost resigned that I have cancer. It's a weird feeling. I'm super calm. I've had an awful year, flu, ear problems and the last 6 weeks I've had strep, UTI, 4 rounds of antibiotics, malaise, fever, no appetite, weight loss, I had gallbladder removal surgery yesterday and now this. Oh l, and it's my 45th birthday today. Ok, so I am rambling, probably a bit high on Percocet lol.

Anyway, to everyone waiting on results, best of luck. I hope you all get good news.

I'll update my story when I have news.

Fiona

I get you on the crappy year and calmness. My reaction when I found out back in June was just "Oh, okay, what do we do?" I'd lost my mother and most of my teeth already this year, and there was more to come. Not sure what would get a reaction from me at this point. Best of luck to you, hope it's not a complicated one if you have to go through this.

Oy vey. Sounds like it's been rough going. I really wish you the very best. I understand your calmness. I had an excision on Thursday (suspected fibroadenoma which has been causing problems), and even when the doctors weren't sure what it was I was fairly calm about it all. Everything happened really fast that I didn't really have time to process and freak out.
