Help! Having surgery tomorrow, How much sensation will I lose?

Hello dear friends, I had a left mastectomy and expander reconstruction. Tomorrow, I'm going in to remove the expander and put in an implant. So far, so good. My doc is also planning to do a "keyhole" incision and lift on my right breast so I won't. Have the one-hung-low look. But I feel like a piece of meat. I've had various other butcher jobs on my body in years, past, including an unwanted hysterectomy during a C-section.

Anyhow, I actually liked my boobs, and I don't want to lose what little sensation I have left. My breasts used to be an important element in sex. I'd hate to trade sensation just for good looks.

My surgeon is a plastic surgeon, of course, but I'm not even clear on whether he's going to do a breast reduction--which I totally don't want--on my right breast to make it match the reconstructed breast.

It would be nice if both breasts looked more or less the same, and I plan to have nipple reconstruction later, but I'm getting really cold feet about allowing more butchery on what's left of my body.

Can someone who's had a "good" breast operated on to make it match the reconstructed breast weigh in on the pros and cons, please?

All experiences, insights, and suggestions welcome!

Thank you! Taj

I just had a small implant in my good breast, and that filled it out and lifted it just enough to be a good match to my reconstructed breast. My breasts were in pretty good shape to begin with, not much droop or ptosis as the surgeons call it😉. About a C cup. Maybe that could work for you? The good side looks phenomenal, and all sensation is intact!
