waiting waiting waiting
HI all.....I had my stereotactic biopsy yesterday morning. I tried really hard to get the radiologist's opinion about what my changes were of cancer vs B9, and he said sometimes he can tell and sometimes there's a lot of gray and I fall into the portion of "a lot of gray".....so he gave me nothing. The tech kept saying the spot was really small, not to worry, they are usually nothing.....so I'm just sitting here trying not to go crazy. I kept asking her if it was small would they know what stage it was, and she looked at me like I was crazy for asking that question. I was just trying to prepare myself, but they def didn't want me going down that road.
I am scheduled for a consultation tomorrow to get the results.....and of course, wondering why it's a consultation and not just a call...but maybe that's how they do it. Just wondering who else is waiting and how you are doing. It's really hard!

jenniekay - The waiting is the toughest part and I have learned through my research that most individuals say that was the toughest part was before their diagnosis because of the waiting. Every location is different in regards to how they give results I have found thru this board and research. I think it will be nice that you will have a face to face to get results whether B9 or a diagnosis. My breast surgeon laid it out to me that after an initial biopsy 80% are B9, 10% are high risk (aytpia found etc), and 10% is cancer. So the odds are for you!!!
Just breathe and know that you are a warrior!!!
I had to wait for 4 days for my results and I had to bug the Dr. with repeat phone calls, and they told me over the phone I had ALH (atypical lobular hyperplasia) and gave me a number for a breast surgeon. I then had to make that appt and go see the surgeon and was told I know have to have an wire excision biopsy to remove the atypical cells. sigh. That is 11/29

Yes, waiting is absolutely the worst thing. I got so anxious my doc gave me a prescription for Xanax. That really helped but it was still hard. It seems like the clock goes so slowly.
We are here for you.

not waiting for biopsy results, went through that last week...it was TOUGH. I think the consultation is a good thing. I received my dx in a phone call and it was hard because I was in shock and had so many questions. I think the consultation will be good with B9 or positive results becaus you’ll be able to ask questions.
I know how scared you are...be nice to yourself today and eat something good or do something that makes you happy. You deserve it.
Hope you get B9 results
