I'm tired...

This is just a bit of a rant.

I'm 4 weeks PFC and my RBC, WBC, hemocrit and so on are still low and, well, I'm tired.

I wake up and sit on the side of my bed for a few hours before I finally get up and get dressed and then I walk the formerly 10, now 15 minute walk up to the shops, my legs burning the whole time, and sit a while before I get something to eat or do my shopping, and then I sit some more before I walk back, and then I get home and....sit. I've been meaning to clean but I just don't have the stamina for it so I sit and look at the mess.

I did manage to take the trash out. Someone left a pristine looking flat screen TV out near the bin...maybe a 37" or 40". I don't have a TV. My "healthy" self would have been able to get it inside and test it but I couldn't manage it so I just stood there and stared at it for a while. I realized I could improvise a handle using the mounting screws and a strap from my furniture Earthquake kit but I was too tired to do even that so I left it out there where some angry drunk will probably kick the screen in.

It is a long road back and you are still early PFC. I am sorry you feel the way you feel, but it does get better.

It takes more time for some...Wish I had better news. I remember those days and feel for you.

At four weeks out, you are still feeling allllll the effects of chemo, stacked one on top of the other. I continued getting Herceptin every three weeks after my Doozie Chemos. The first two or three Herceptin-alone chemos, I had a complaint for everything, thinking it was the Herceptin. Nope, it was still the Doozie Chemo side effects.

Time. It takes time to get all that crap, errr, life saving/cancer killing meds out of our bodies. Drink lots of water and move when you can. Honest engine, it will get better.

    Hi WC3,

    Congratulations on finishing chemo!!! Yay!!!

Yes, the aftermath can be more challenging in ways. I am 1 yr pfc, and overall feel pretty normal. I have some lingering neuropathy, but not bad. It took about 4 months to truly start feeling like myself. Your poor body has been so taxed and will take a bit to recover. Listen to it and be gentle with yourself for a while. It will get better, I promise.

Taxotere left me so tired and breathless I thought I'd never feel normal again. I did get better, although it was so slow I wasn't sure it was happening! This part of my treatment took more patience than anything I'd been through, and I'm not known for my patience. But I made it through - just take it one day at a time and you'll get there.

I am12 weeks PFC and believe me in another few weeks things will start looking up.Hang in there. Keep drinking lots of water and be kind to yourself.

Thank you everyone for the replies and encouraging words.

I'm trying to move around more. I actually felt pretty good around this time after the 5th infusion...maybe they gave me a little extra for the 6th because of my surgery date.
