I just thought I would pop on here and see if anyone had any advice or could relate to my situation.

On October 17th I woke up with what looking like a bug bite on my right breast near my areola. It was raised and itchy. I googled that which was a terrible idea, but I tried not to panic. I put hydrocortisone on it, and said I would call t the doctor in a week if it wasn’t better.

After 7 days of hydrocortisone it was almost gone, so I figured it was healing and stopped worrying about it.

Then this past Monday October 29th, I woke up to another red mark near the original red make. This was less of a bite and more of a patch. Freaking out I called the doctor immediately and they got me in that afternoon. The doctor did a breast exam and said she really wasn’t concerned and didn’t feel anything weird but would send me for a ultrasound for peace of mind.

The next morning the second red patch was already gone and the original one is almost completely gone now as well. (it’s been 2 weeks and 1 day since that one appeared).

The main thing now is my right breast is like extremely sore now after the breast exam. It feels like deep “bruising” like pain in it. It started hurting right after the exam. I don’t know if it’s just because of the exam and to much poking and feeling around? My period is also due today, so I don’t know if that’s part of it or what. I am trying not to touch it and just leave it be. But I haven’t had any “pain” with it at all until now.

I am just confused. I’ve never had issues like this before. I was really hoping the red spot would be completely gone by now.

Any insight would be appreciated. My ultrasound is on the 14th.

I am 33, no family history of breast cancer. Not breastfeeding

Most skin issues, regardless of what body part they are on, are exactly that-simply skin issues. If those patches had been on your arm would you worry you had cancer? Breasts are actually great hosts for skin issues because they stay warm and damp.

That’s exactly the mindset I was trying to take. If it was anywhere else on my body would I be worried, no.

I just usually don’t have any issues at all with my skin or my breasts, and now the pain is throwing me off.
