I found a lump a little over a year ago and my doctor said to keep an eye on it for growth. It did get bigger so he sent me for a diagnostic mammogram and sonogram last week. The sonographer had her lead come in to look at a spot (behind the lump). Then they had the radiologist come look at it. He told me with the irregular shape and no shadowing he needed to biopsy it. But don't stress out!?

Yesterday was the biopsy and it was not a good experience (not that I thought it would be). He said that he wanted to see if it would aspirate and seemed annoyed that it wouldn't. When he did the biopsy he said “you're only 38, so don't expect this to be cancer ok?". I told him that I didn't want it to be cancer! WTH

Now I'm waiting for the results.

tx- Welcome and sorry you find yourself here playing the waiting game.

I had a core needle biopsy and I agree- Ouch! Sure they numbed where it went in, but that thing shot across my breast and I thought it was going to come out the other side!

I will be hoping for benign results for you. Please keep us posted.

I had three biopsies. Two were no big deal and one was quite debilitating for about a weak. I think it has a lot to do with where the mass is located. Tylenol and ice worked for me and it does heal pretty quickly.

sorry you are going through this. I agree that the biopsy can be rough. My core needle biopsy was more painful during as I didn’t get numb. The second one I had was vacuum assisted biopsy that they kept numb but I developed a hematoma after! I agree ice was definitely a huge help! Hoping for good results and that you get answers soon. Keep us updated
