Immune system is kaput
It's been five years since my last chemo, 2 years since my last surgery, and for those last 2, I have been sick with colds, fevers, stomach bugs, the flu, everything, more than I have in the 20 years before combined.
I've tried everything. Probiotics, vitamins, herbs, treatments, potions, lotions, and magic commotions.
The drs aren't finding anything wrong. My blood work shows nothing, my scans- nothing. "You body's been through a lot." Well, no s**t. You don't need to tell me that. I'm more than aware of what my body has been through.
I can't get anything done because I'm always getting sick, and I'm sick of it!
Has anyone else had this experience? If you have, have you found anything to actually help?
I can't take it anymore.

Everything came back so very low. Sent me to the Allergist and gave me a shot to boost my immune system. 6 weeks later I had a repeat of the test and most everything was back to normal range.
I don't get flu shots she said that's why my body wasn't abe to fight tiniest infection.
I'm not saying you have the same condition but it's worth to mention it to your Dr.
It's been 8 months I'm infection free.I'm gonna find the name of the vaccine and come back. You have nothing to loose.

OMG- thank you!
At least it's something to look into. I'm losing my mind because I am sick yet again. I'm a month out from a trip to England, and the last 2 times i've gone, I've been sick. I just want to enjoy myself without keeping everyone else up with my cough.

The committee recommended that seniors get both the Prevnar 13 and the Pneumovax 23 vaccines. As their names imply, Prevnar 13 protects against 13 types of pneumococcal bacteria, and the Pneumovax 23 protects against 23 types of pneumococcal bacteria.

This vaccine is for over 65. It worked with one dose if it didn't I was gona get a second dose.
Just mention it get your blood work done and if you're under 65 and that's the case at least you know what's happening to your body.
I'll be checking this thread daily to see if there is any update.
Hugs

Thanks Shiela, I'm 42, but, my dr did have me get the Prevnar 13 vax in January, just b/c I was a cancer patient.... I'll ask about the other to see if it's an option, and to see about the test.
I appreciate it!
