2 small lymph nodes in belly are showing more activity on PET

Just had PET where everything was clean but these lymph nodes are starting to act up. They had gone down in size, and now they are not increasing but there is more "activity". SO, I've been on Kadcyla and Faslodex for about 6 months and med onc doesn't want to take me off...says it's working because there are no new sites. However, she does want to address the lymph nodes with rad onc. I haven't met with him yet but I guess it may be gamma knife or regular radiation. I am so concerned about the location - being right near my stomach and small intestine, that I will have horrific GI side effects. Has anyone had lymph nodes radiated near their stomach? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I've never had radiation to lymph nodes. Chest wall yes, and spine yes. The spinal radiation wasn't a lot of fun, GI-wise. I had an upset stomach for two straight weeks.

What I will say is the ROs will do their best to avoid the GI tract, but it's inevitable that they'll hit something. Ask the RO questions about that. Let him or her know your concern.

Congratulations on an otherwise excellent report!

Thanks so much for responding, Pajim! Just out of curiosity, was it cyberknife or regular radiation? I will let you know how it goes...
