After nearly 10 years, my cancer is back.
I recently had to go to the ER for a bowel impaction and the results of the CT revealed blastic process activity in my pelvic bones. I am waiting for an appointment with an oncologist and am wondering what I'm going to be dealing with. Any info will be appreciated.

The good news is now you know. Sorry you had the bowel involvement before you caught it. My back pain took me to the orthopedic that found the tumors in the lower back and intervened to stop bowel and bladder loss. Have you had biopsies of the area? What type of breast cancer did you have? I had to immediately begin steroids for inflammation that was causing more pressure on the spinal area. Radiation to the tumors after biopsies to ID it as metastatic breast cancer, shrunk tumors and stopped pain. Because of HR+, began femara/ kisqali orally, and zometo infusions to clean my blood and repair my bone. Great response after 7 months of treatment. Tumors have shrunk significantly in back and lungs. Two nodules in lungs disappeared. About to have my third pet/ct scan to monitor tumors and check to see if any new activity. We expect continued good news. Hang in there and look forward to hearing about your path. Hugs and peace for you day.

Thank you for your response and information. My doctor called me yesterday to ask how I was and tell me he had been talking with the oncologist.. He wants a lot of tests and scans done before he sees me. So right now, I don't know anymore than that my cancer has metastasized to my pelvic area. I haven't been on this site in nearly 10 years. I can't find my old profile but I had a right mastectomy because of IDC. Chemo sent me to the hospital with anemia, pneumonia and plural effusion. I was in there for a month getting antibiotics and transfusion before they could do an open decortication of my right lung. Again, thank you and I am wishing the best for you.

So sorry for both of you. It’s tragic it’s the gift that keeps on giving. 10 years is such a long time. I’m only 7 years out.
Hope your scan turns out okay jubles.
JoE777 - you have been through hell and back. Good to hear the tumors are shrinking.
It seems we will never have a moments peace with this beast.
