JULY 2018 Radiation?
Comments

Finished radiation on Sept. 5th. I was very raw and sore until I reached 10 days after, rawness is healing, less sore. Still fatigued, hoping to return to work next Monday, and hoping the fatigue lets up some more over the next week.

How is everyone else doing? My radiation ended August 8th after only 16 zaps (no boosts) and am still terribly red and swollen. I had the "zingers" from Day 4, but it became constant stabbing pain. The pain in the chest (costochondritis) got so bad a week or so ago that I ended up in the ER. This was six weeks after rads ended! The oncologist says it's not normal. The radiologist office keeps saying I will only "get pink" and that radiation "is the easiest part of treatment." BS. Give me back chemo! I've seen two radiologists. One did finally give me steroids which worked on the stabbing pain, but not the swollen part. Is anyone else still two cup sizes larger and bright red? I'm looking for reality, here, not the dribble the radiologists are giving me.

Hi. I finished Mid August. I had a bad burn that took about 3-4 weeks to heal. I had nausea during that time and still to this day. I see PCP next week to see what’s up. My radiated breast is getting much firmer. I feel lumps but rad onc says it feels like healing process. I think I may need to do some stretches and exercises as across my chest to arm seems a little tight. Anyone else experiencing this

I posted this in August radiation topic also, so, sorry if this is a repeat.
I finished radiation on July 20. I have been getting a crusty nipple ever since. No discharge that I've noticed, but dry, feels like plastic skin that I can peel off. I'm worried it's Paget's. Have any of you experienced this after radiation? I'm hoping it's just skin change after radiation, but I am worried about another cancer.
I have an appt with my RO tomorrow morning.

I finished in August and am just now getting the cording despite yoga two times a day. I see a Lymphedema Specialist and get the lymphatic massage weekly. What a huge difference! I don't want to knock someones head in on an hourly basis from the constant pain.
Marymc86 - I am also starting to get a "dry nipple" despite twice daily moisturizing. I will be curious to know what your RO says. Mine, I won't even bother going back too because he will only tell me "radiation is easy".

Diagnosis Disrupted,
I'll try to update when I know something. Right now, she has prescribed a steroid cream to use on it 3 times a day. I've been using it for about 3 days and noticed the growth, scab or whatever is already coming back. Gotta tell ya, I'm a little unnerved by it.
She wants to see me back in a month after diagnostic mammogram.
Radiation is easy? That cording is weird. I had it, too. Keep stretching. I feel really tight in the armpit and shoulder area if I don't keep the tissue moving.
