I'm approaching 2 years
Hi there-
I'm not sure what sort of advice I'm searching for - perhaps just some words of encouragement?
So December 16' I found the first lump, went to see my primary and he was very concerned by the feel and color of my breast. So he referred me for a mamm, ultrasound, and to meet with a breast surgeon. Both the mamm and US came back benign. Shortly after that I discovered my second 'cyst' this time going straight to the breast surgeon, she removed this cyst without biopsy, exclaiming "this things just go away on their own usually" as she tossed my tissue in the trash. Shortly after that I began having discharge from the same breast (and never from the other)... and went back in yet again, she sent me for another mamm and ultrasound: both neg. She then sent me for a breast MRI STILL NEG and not just for breast cancer but for anything that might cause my pain and discharge (by this time things had began feeling lumpier or thicker rather.)
They assured me that my issues were hormonal and sent me to endocrine. The endocrinologist was positive that my discharge we milk and that my blood, when tested, would show high levels of prolactin. Well, I just got my hormone panels back and the endocrine specialist was wrong. My prolactin is quite low. Furthermore, I am having unreal pain in my right arm and armpit. as well as minor swelling in my right arm which seems different daily. I am also having bad neck pain on that side. I have an appointment coming up AGAIN, on the 29th with the breast surgeon... But I honestly feel as though she might have signed my death cert.
Anyone else have these symptoms? Anyone eventually diagnosed? I feel like I know deep down in my gut that something is so so wrong in there - I just fear with these issues going on for two years that if they were wrong initially, I may have invasive cancer by now.

I'm so sorry to hear you've had such trouble with your breasts and your doctors. I don't have experience with the particular issues you're describing, but am sending thoughts and prayers your way. Waiting for appointments and results can be one of the hardest things ever. Take good care of yourself. 😊

Considering MRIs only have about a 5% or less false negative rate it is pretty unlikely that you have cancer. Why would they cut out a breast cyst?

Do you have any autoimmune conditions? If yes look up lymphocytic mastopathy:

They cut out the cyst because it was rooted in my nipple. The surgeon was sure there would be some sort of fluid filled sack, but no, she was just scraping fleshy material from my nipple - It was awful. Im just annoyed because regardless of all of these issues, I've yet to receive a biopsy of any kind... Now that I'm having armpit and arm pain on that side, I'm kinda worried.

I have chronic lyme disease. It went undiagnosed for 10 years... Thank you so much for sharing that info with me, it totally seems feasible! I will bring it up with my Dr!

Thank you so much for the kind words! Waiting truly sucks!
