** Can I workout today? **

hello!

Not sure this is right forum, but I have a question about post biopsy today. I’m having a last minute ultrasound guided biopsy today. (I have a wire guided excisional biopsy at the end of October).

My question is can I workout today? The ultrasound one sounds pretty non-evasive. My workout is a circuit training with weights, including pushups and bicep curls. Will that be a problem?

I want to give my trainer a heads up so she can either cancel or perhaps all I need is to do alternatives/legs and cardio instead?

Thanks for your opinion!

And if your reading this, then what about recovery time after the other biopsy?

THANK YOU!!

It is a small surgery but I’d take one day off, or if you feel like you want to do something, avoid anything that will jiggle your breast. Keeping it still will help the healing/minimize bleeding. You also might not feel like doing anything that includes lying on your tummy (squishing that hooter). I’ve also found the pain afterwards depends on where the biopsy was—I had one on the exact underside of my breast and was surprised at how painful it was until I got off my feet.

If I remember correctly, I was told not to lift more than 8 to 10 pounds for 48 hours after the biopsy. I also had to wait 24 hours to shower because of the glue they used to close the incision. You could try calling the facility where your biopsy will be done to see what your restrictions will be

Thank you for responding! I think I will take the day off and go for a long walk instead. Great advice: no jiggling!

And I wouldn’t want to not be able to shower after either. Yuck. Haha. So glad I asked ;).

    Have a great day

Glad I asked and took advice from here! The doctor doing the procedure was not very communicative and didn’t understand my questions today (a bit of a language barrier).

The side of my breast looks almost like a golf ball sticking out. He did say “large hematoma,” so I’m sure it’s that, but I can’t even rub my arm or anything else near it.

Here’s hoping it’s healed up for my next surgery on the 29th
