Hello I am 29 years old. About a month and a half ago I was having bloody discharge from my left nipple had a U/S and came back normal but BS didn't want to just watch it so she ordered an MRI after much fighting with my insurance she got it approved. Went to my MRI (didn't want to do mammo due to age). MRI showed nothing in nipple but did show a 2cm lump in my right breast! My breast nurse called me with results and ordered another U/S the day of my follow up appt. Got that done and they couldn't find the mass which they thought was crazy since it was 2cm and close to my chest wall. So I met with my BS and we discussed the nipple discharge and agreed on a central duct excision on 9/28/2018 and a MRI guided biopsy on 10/4/2018. Surgery went well and the day of biopsy my radiologist stated after being "so concerned and focused" on find the lump she didn't realize I couldn't have the biopsy due to location. So on 10/12/2018 I have an excisional biopsy on the lump. I am now waiting for the pathology report. She has assured me its a low chance of BC due to age but I am terrified!!! My radiologist didn't want to wait to see how it grows or doesn't grow, she was very insistent on having it taken care of ASAP. I do have very dense fibro cystic breast but I do find it odd I couldn't feel a 2cm lump in breast close to my chest. Is this normal? Any information would be amazing seeing as I'm googling and I think scaring myself more than anything. Trying to stop doing that and keep myself busy but also very hard as I still have two incisions and can't do much :( thank u so much in advance!

    I hope this turns out to be nothing, buuuut you are the best advocate for yourself. I was 28 when I had some shooting pain and felt a pin size lump in my right breast. I went to urgent care seeing as how my PCP couldn’t get in for a month and I just had a terrible feeling. I’m always on the side of putting off going to the doc and not taking more medicine than is absolutely needed. This just felt different so I pushed to have an ultrasound done at least. The doctor in urgent care actually tried to scare me out of it by saying ‘you may have to get poked by a very big needle’ - ok by me! My insurance also didn’t want to approve the ultrasound and added mammogram (I was able to get with my doctor sooner and she added a mammogram). Almost 2 months later I was told I have BC. This I hope is not how it turns out for you, but if you feel something then until you know it’s nothing I say fight to find out. The consequences aren’t worth not fighting to know in my opinion. Cancer doesn’t give a flying f about age, race, bank account or how often you go to church.

    Parrynd1 thank you so much for your reply. Me and my doctors luckily have been amazing and have moved very quickly to try to get to the bottom of things. I do have a horrible gut feeling though that this isn't just another normal problem. My "lump" is non palpable so I can't feel it, but 2cm that's fairly large.*so I'm told* I'm just in the waiting stage for the pathology report :( did your US show anything? Mine didn't but all 3 MRIs did with "no significant changes" as their faces look at me with sad eyes (could be in my head also)

    Vanessa - I had 5 excisional biopsies between ages 30 and 46 that were various benign lesions. I also had dense fibrocystic breasts. Waiting is the worst but the lesion is what it is and losing the joy of today won't change the pathology report. So, I hope that you can find a fun distraction and have hope that the mass is benign! If it turns out otherwise, you will get lots of support here.

    toomuch- thank you so so much!!! That does help a lot to hear cause so many people I speak to are worried it is worse case scenario so your words helped. I will keep everyone informed on my findings. *Hugs* and I will try my best to stay distracted.

    My US did show the larger one of my tumors, but it missed one that an MRI was able to find. I ended up having to have an MRI guided biopsy of the second hard to find one. Something that was kinda scary was one of my recurrent tumors was missed even on the mammogram I had to look at the big one we knew was there. It is kinda in my armpit a little though so that could be why. I will say the waiting but period is the worst, ugh, keeping busy isa good plan :)
