Beautiful Lisa. The composition is perfect. Nikon has come out with two new cameras which I am considering buying both of them. One is a bridge camera which has a 120x zoom which sounds unbelievable. They are coming out tomorrow with their first mirrorless camera. Besides the huge price they don't take SD cards and the new card they take costs $128 so that part is a big negative. I love my current DSLR but I still want a longer reach for birds and my long lens I do have is so heavy it is not fun lugging around for too long. This bridge camera might do the job. It was supposed to be on the market at the beginning of Sept and they keep moving it into the future so not sure what is up with that.
-
the bridge cameras were mirrorless too, but without the many lenses and shutter noise. Is the new Nikon optical zoom 120?
-
Lisa, it is 125x optical zoom. 16 megapixel up to a 3000mm reach equivalent to a 35 mm camera. It has vibration reduction and is capable of shooting in Raw. I would love to get my hands on one but as I mentioned Nikon keeps pushing the date of market entry into the future as they have done with the mirrorless camera as well which was supposed to come out today and has been pushed into Oct.
-
I am thinking of getting the Canon sx70. It has better pixels and I don't know about the sensor. But 65 optical zoom feels right for me. I get 1/4 of the moon with it.
-
I still have my Canon 50x zoom but I haven't used it much after buying a long lens. The Canon still has a farther reach.
Here are a few butterflies I have taken in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks Lisa. BTW That camera coming out has a moon mode on it.
Great kick and great shot! You are fast on the trigger!!!) or should I say shutter!
-
-
Lisa, you don't need a moon mode! Nice shot.

full moon tonight

Love the landscapes and the waterfalls. That is an interesting mushroom too, Joanne.
Lisa, I goofed and thought the full moon was on Thursday and I had even looked it up. I had a meeting last night when I realized my mistake and it was too cold and I had too much to do after the meeting to get some pics.
Love your moon pics. Are you using the 65 zoom? I haven't pulled the trigger on that Nikon 125x zoom and it is on backorder anyway. I want to be able to go to a local store and hold one. They are quite bulky and heavy according to the reviews which kind of defeats my whole reason for wanting one.
-
Nancy, it was my 65 optical zoom
Can't wait to get the Canon sx70. It has the same zoom, but better other features including bluetooth. I use the wifi feature on the sx70 a lot. Bluetooth even more handy.
I do have a basic SLR Canon but I hardly ever use it.

took this in Alaska, can you believe it?

-
SoCalLisa, that's a beautiful photo. Well done!!
-
Wow that’s beautiful! Hard to believe it’s in Alaska.
