I had a core needle biopsy done just over two weeks ago and although the result is IDC, is there any possibility that its a false positive? I wont know for sure till my lumpectomy next week, but just curious to know if there are cases of false positive.

I haven't heard of any, but perhaps there's someone out there that has.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis!

I’ve never heard of any either. Sure wish all of our diagnoses were wrong but they weren’t unfortunately.,

Sorry about your DX but we are here to help if we can and support you.

You can do this. We are all proof of that.

Sometimes pathologists are wrong. You can ask for a second opinion.

My slides were reviewed by at least two places and because my cancer came back HER2 positive by IHC at one facility, another facility confirmed it through FISH so I am pretty sure the pathologists got it right in my case.

There was an incident of a woman who was misdiagnosed as having breast cancer by three different pathologists and then died from an accidental chemotherapy overdose but she had a rarw condition that can appear pathologically similar to a rare form of breast cancer which pathologists don't see much.
