Red itchy rash over breast and stomach after exchange

Options

16 days after exchange surgery to permanent implants developed a red itchy rash that looked like cellulitis got admitted to the hospital for 3 days. Dr could not figure out if it was a rash from dermatitis or cellulitis. All blood work came back normal. White blood count never changed! So no infection but not plastic dr, medical dr. or dermatology dr. could tell me what kind of rash it was and how I got it! Rash came on quick one day fever and chills hence what got me to the hospital.

Anyone experienced that?

    hi cassyjerome1

After my lumpectomy I had a very fine rash all over my chest and abdomen. My surgeon thought it could be from a couple of things: hibiclens, the skin cleaner they gave me to use prior to surgery & or the surgical “drape” they put on your skin prior to & during surgery. I am allergic to any & all surgical adhesives hence the rash. It was really itchy &especially annoying trying to recover after surgery. Didn’t have a fever or chills. Hope you are better!

    Hi KWRS,

That rash was crazy intense. It’s going away treating it with histamines. It’s now peeling! I was recommended to go to an allergist to test me for things tha are in the operating room, prep they use on my skin and the stuff they clean you up with. I cannot let myself get into that rash hot mess again. New breast are great, tattoo 3d nipples Dec 6th, oh how I miss nipples lol
